The Roman Road is a walk through the salvation story as the Apostle Paul explains it in his letter to the Romans.
My wife and I taught a 6-week series on this called The Road: Saved and Sent in 2016.
Here are the highlights:
Because of our sin, we are separated from God.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
We have ALL done things that are wrong and displeasing to God. Due to our rebellion and disobedience to God we are separated from him. Separation from God is death.
The penalty for our sin is death.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
Anytime we make a choice to live in disobedience to God we have missed the mark, and sinned.
The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus Christ!
“But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Jesus was all man and all God. He never sinned, and because of this he was the perfect sacrifice to bridge the gap between us and God.
If we repent of our sins and confess Jesus as our Savior, we will be saved!
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10
If you believe and want forgiveness and new life, allow God to transform your heart by praying this prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name, amen.
If you’ve believed and confessed we’d love to hear about it. Reach out please so we can rejoice and walk with you. Next steps are to tell another Christian (if you know one) and find a Bible-believing church. We can help.
We’ve also turned these messages into an article series if you prefer to read:
