Embracing Life’s Journey

Spending time with Aiden Lam, my “adopted” grandson is truly a highlight in my day.

The thrill this two- year old expresses when he sees me come to his house is infectious. He runs around the house showing me his toys and all the new and things he can do. He is nonstop going from toy to toy.

The joy in his dark eyes is so evident, it thrills my heart. Aiden embraces life and is “all in” with enthusiasm for life. When he eats something he likes he lets out a great “Mmmmmm” then “Ahhhhhhh!”

When showing him how to do something new or completing a puzzle he cheers himself on with cheers of praise and clapping. The laughter of pure innocence and fun as we play together brings a time of renewal for me.  Aiden’s hugs are the best, his little arms around my neck and gentle pats on my back.

I feel love emanating from him.

I truly believe God wants us to live like this. We need to live like today may be our last day.  A year ago I had a life changing experience.  I developed a major, life-threatening blood clot in my brain.  I had no ability to “fix” myself, yet I learned to peacefully rest in the arms of Christ.  God miraculously healed me.

So, from now on, I am determined to be all-in for Christ, all the time, and to embrace life with the child-like enthusiasm my little Aiden does.

Work, play, relationships, and our Christian walk in life, should all be approached with a zest for life and with enthusiasm to experience all of God’s goodness. God will take care of the details and he knows our future.

Embrace life’s journey.

Have faith like a small child.

It isn’t over until you reach your goal and Jesus says: “Well done my good and faithful servant.”

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. – Colossians 3:17

Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm, as to the Lord and not for people, – Colossians 3:23

Our Beliefs

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9
