3 Games Kids LOVE

“I’m bored!!!” I’m sure every parent out their has heard those famous 2 words from their kids. I know that I have said those words to my parents more than once in my life. Well if you are looking for some games that kids will love, you have come to the right place!

Here are 3 games and activities the kids are loving at church right now that you could easily do at home, possibly with what you have around the house!

Cup Towers

Our kids at church LOVE to build cup towers using paper cups and paper plates. Seems too simple, right?! I’m telling you, I give the kids a stack of cups and a stack of plates and they could spend an hour playing. We have races to see who can build the tallest tower in so many minutes. The kids also like trying to build towers using different number of cups for the base to see if they can build them taller. They try to build towers taller than they are. Then they have fun trying to blow them over to start again! This can be a very cheap, yet entertaining activity for kids from age 3 through 12.

Freeze Dance

Do you need to wear off some of your kids energy that has been building up all winter or during rainy summer days? Have a Freeze Dance Party! Turn up some music and let your kids dance like crazy! When you stop the music have them freeze in the position they are in. Have them hold that frozen position for a few minutes, then turn the music back on and keep dancing! Kids love dancing and music so it’s the perfect combination to let your kids wiggle out all of that energy! Looking for some music that is age appropriate, upbeat, and Christ-centered, check out Hillsong Kids on Youtube! One of our kids’ favorite songs at church is Take it All by Hillsong. Our kids call it the “crazy song”! Just have fun with it…to make it even more memorable for your kids, make sure YOU join in the fun! Your kids will LOVE dancing and singing along with you. When you are done with the game have your kids lay down and stretch out like a “starfish” on the floor to relax again.

Paper Plate Pictionary

This one can be a ton of fun for any age, but kids especially love it! Grab some paper plates and give each person playing a plate. Have them hold the plate on their head with the bottom of plate up. Then have them draw a picture such as a hot dog in a bun, a snowman, or a flower. They can’t see what they are drawing but the results are HILARIOUS! You can either let them be creative and let them draw what they want or tell them specific directions on how to draw the picture in a certain order. Either way this game is a ton of fun and your kids will love it!

These are just a few of the games kids love at church right now. So if you hear those 2 little words “I’m Bored” try one of these games and see if your kids like them! It’s always nice to provide a fun activity at home to create memories that are simple but help you and your kids connect and get those wiggles out a little bit!

Our Beliefs

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9
