The church in Pegamum is receiving this letter from Jesus confirming they hold fast to his name even though their city is filled with Satan’s works.  In that though, they are tolerating religious and moral compromise and need to repent and return to what they were originally taught.  So often in our lives and faith we make compromises.  Maybe to make life easier or to keep others happier.  Jesus is calling us to a high standard, not a life of tolerating compromise.
